Title Palm trees and poem
Collection Postcard Collection
Object Name Postcard
Description Postcard depicting palm trees near the water and a poem by Emma Tharp Hale that reads, ‘In Florida – Where balmy as June is each winter day and gorgeous flowers their charms display. Where orange groves bring rare delight and towering palms are a lovely sight. Where restless waves as they rise and fall seem to say to you “There is room for all to play and swim as long as you will and we guarantee you will get a thrill.” Where the golf links beckon “Come, play awhile your cares and worries we will beguile.” Where the well-paved roads your joys enhance and lure you to speed o’er their smooth expanse; where the fish are hungry and eager to bite and you really catch ‘em—oh, what delight! But of Florida’s charms there’s more to say than one could tell in a year and a day. I could never finish the list, I know for her charm and beauty continue to grow!’
